His name is Phillip Cothern (but his stage name is DJ 51-50). I think we picked a winner. He was sweet and professional and out of all the guys I spoke with, he seemed genuinely enthusiastic about our wedding. He’ll be playing a mix of indie, blues, rock and swing music. Best thing is he’ll take requests and keep the party going. He’s already helped me piece together my non-traditional (surprise) bridal march. I could tell he was passionate about music and I’m super excited about our reception!

Green Oak Florists will be working on my wedding flowers. We’re going with a monochromatic color scheme with shades of blue. There aren’t many natural dark blue flowers. In fact, I think I picked the hardest color to find! Delphiniums and hydrangeas come in blues, but neither of them are very dark. I’ve decided to go with dyed orchids in my bouquet. I think they’re gorgeous, don’t you? I don’t mind using dyed blooms. Plus orchids are among my favorite flowers. I can’t wait to see how the bouquet turns out!

When Jeff proposed, the ring took my breath away. It was so personal, so perfect. He didn’t just buy it from some chain store or pick something out by a designer; it was handmade for me, custom designed with the number “8″ in the bridge. Eight is my favorite number and it is very symbolic in my life. Jeff put so much thought and effort into the design. The ring is very special to me and I love everything about it.

We traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada in May 2010 for some RnR. It was a great trip! Our hotel was Caesars Palace. Among many other things, we saw a Cirque du Soleil show, Lance Burton and we ate the most amazing food.

Our trip to Breckenridge, Colorado was awesome! We skied/snowboarded for 3 days. Our hotel room was right across the street from the lift to Peak 9 (which is where Jeff proposed). All we had to do was wake up, bundle up, and hit the slopes. You should ask Jeff about his enormous bruise the next time you see him.  =)
